Tips from the Garden ~ Month of April
Well, if you haven't cleaned your gardens by now
and removed the dead from the perennials, or pruned the damaged or dead from
your trees or shrubs (from the heavy snow) - git 'r done - what are you waiting
for? Just do it!
All early planting of bulbs, perennials, shrubs,
and trees, etc. should be done at this time. Make sure you use good
composted soils and growing mixes. Experts agree that the better the soil
conditions, the longer the life of the plant. All heavy to light pruning
should be done by now or soon hereafter. All transplanting of shrubs,
trees, or separating of perennials should also be done during this month.
Although the water is cold right now, pond
cleaning, if it can be done, should be completed or preparing to be completed in
the next few weeks.
For the do-it-yourselfers remember: always be open
to exploring different things, ideas, and contrasts with your flowers,
evergreens, shrubs, trees, and with mulch, stone, etc.
Happy Gardening!
